We’re very happy to welcome Amir H Fallah to our studio for the first time this week! Here’s a look at the first couple of days of his visit.

On Thursday, October 15 at 6pm Amir will be joined in the Tandem studio by Faisal Abdu'Allah to talk about the ways in which music influences their artistic practices. The event is free and open to the public but registration is encouraged. Head to the link in our bio to learn more and register!

Needle & Thread: Vinyl Records in Artistic Practice with Amir H. Fallah and Faisal Abdu’Allah
Thursday, October 15
6pm at Tandem Press

During his first residency at Tandem, Los Angeles–based artist Amir H. Fallah will be joined in the studio by UW–Madison Printmaking Professor, Associate Dean of the Arts, and Chazen Family Distinguished Chair in Art Faisal Abdu’Allah. Shaped around a curated selection of vinyl tracks, the conversation will explore the ways music influences identity, emotion, and memory. Drawing on their personal histories and broader cultural narratives, Fallah and Abdu’Allah will consider how music can become a powerful medium for storytelling, connecting individual experience to the shared rhythms of everyday life and artistic practice.

Our annual Friday Jazz Series returns this week! Concerts take place at Tandem Press from 5-7pm and feature student performers from Mead Witter School of Music’s Jazz Studies Program. All concerts in the series are free and open to the public.

Our gallery and printmaking studio will be open during each performance for attendees to view our exhibitions and have a first-hand look at our collaborative printmaking projects with world renowned contemporary artists.

Friday, November 6, 2026: Jazz Composers’ Group (dir. Aruṇ Lūthrā) and the Blue Note Ensemble (dir. Johannes Wallmann)

*Please note that concerts take place on the second floor of Tandem Press, which is only accessible by a staircase. Tandem’s ground-floor gallery and studio are wheelchair accessible. A TV with a live stream is set up in the studio during each concert for visitors who are not able to access the second floor of the building. Please contact us for more information.

We are back at The Armory Show this week with a solo presentation of new and recent editions by Suzanne Caporael!

Visit us in booth 221 to see a series of new large-scale prints that closely relate to the body of work featured in her solo exhibition Fitting, currently on view at Miles McEnery Gallery. In these pieces, Caporael studies and plays with polyomino shapes, fitting them together in various compositions to investigate aspects of abstraction.

Our booth also highlights a standalone print titled The Clock and a small series of images that lean into representation and reflect Caporael’s affinity for water.
