June is bustin’ out all over, and new plays are too! We’ve got a festival of new works celebrating q***r voices, a new adaptation of an old favorite at a 2026’s Tony-award winning regional theater, two brand new musicals, one featuring historical events & actor-musicians, and the other featuring beautiful puppets (guests of our kick-off event will remember and Alyssa Rhode’s beautiful preview!) and Forst Inn Arts Collective’s full-length new play offering after a sold-out festival of short plays just last weekend!

WPW is thrilled to close out the month of May with yet another new play festival!!
The Forst Inn Arts Collective is proud to present nine locally sourced 10-minute plays by seven playwrights! Tickets are going FAST (seriously!!) so don’t miss your chance to sample the world premiere of these delicious bite-sized plays in Kewaunee!

Our longest-running show of WPW 2026, Kohl’s Wild Theater opens A Rhino’s Role, by Nicole Greevy and B~Free, directed by Doug Clemons, which runs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, Tuesday-Sunday, shows from 12-12:15!
Charlie and Parker, two creative but competitive siblings are whisked away to Kenya during an “imagination game.” There they go on a musical adventure starring an Eastern black rhino named dice! They learn how rhinos support the local ecosystem (and some new dance moves!) and encounter the rhino’s greatest threat: the Drought Monster. Enjoy this brand-new adventure through Labor Day!

A harrowing secret revealed by her stepfather’s will forces Amy to question everything she knows: THE BILL is a new Southern family tragicomedy that explores the ties that bind, the bonds we break and the wounds that bleed us dry.

In Kristen Field’s new play CARE, Rebecca, an agoraphobic woman with rheumatoid arthritis, has to confront her own fears and insecurities when Amy, a college dropout living with her parents, starts bringing her groceries (at the behest of her mother).

Kristen is a q***r nonbinary playwright from Melbourne, Australia who has grown roots in the Midwest, in Illinois and Michigan, where she is currently pursuing a PhD at Western Michigan University. 🛒🚪

We also celebrate Jacqueline Kehoe’s new play IMPOSSIBLE MONSTERS! Through the story of Mary Anning, one of the world’s first paleontologists, Impossible Monsters tells the story of how the world reacted when dinosaurs were first discovered—and how humans recoil from new ideas. Jacqueline is a Wisconsin writer, editor, and photographer whose work tells ambitious stories of science and nature, spanning time and space.
