Celebrate Exploration:
All around this part of the Ohio River Valley, evidence exists of early influence of the Celtic peoples.

Our Mission:
The Ohio Valley Celtic Society exists for all those who wish to explore the ways of the Celts; to educate and share with others in their ways; to celebrate the influence of the Celtic peoples in our area. From the wayward Welsh warriors of Madoc fame through the Scottish settlements in the hills, through the coal mining and hard rock construction of Irish immigrants, to the Gaelic sur

names we see today, the culture of the Celtic peoples surrounds us all. By exploring this history, we can learn about their families, culture and lives. Education and Sharing:
The endeavor of the OVCS is to educate interested folk by providing them with informational resources about Celtic culture. By providing the opportunity for these people to learn, we all expand our own collective knowledge of the cultures that influence our heritage as well as our daily lives. Our resources include literature, demonstrations, reenactments and educational interpretation. Celebration:
The culmination of our exploration, education and sharing is celebration! The fondest goal of the OVCS is to enjoy all the things we learn. Through art, music, dance and social gathering we form the bonds to our present and past. By spreading the excitement of who we are, we bring more people into the family! Come celebrate with us!

We hope to see everyone for the Lee Pennington talk tomorrow. 7 pm! We'll have some snacks, a hearty taste of the new Viking Meade for everyone and maybe another surprise! But the nice surprise right now to tell you- the Madison Riverfront Committee has accepted the OVCS gift of a Celtic Cross Monument to be placed on the Riverfront!!! It is here on the grounds, and you get you first peek at it tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing you!
