When I'm out here working on the land, which I like doing, my (adhd) mind goes racing with a million ideas. Last Sunday I posted looking for a person to walk Gracie and help me with her for events. I got about a dozen interested parties, 2 followed up after I sent them the details. I prayed, and God brought the Maryleigh! I'm so thankful and excited about this new adventure. Another person came out, and we talked about her vision/event planning for this property, which is very similar to mine, and about what we want to do here. I know her wheels were turning as well :) So here are just a few more ideas I've had for a while, it just hasn't happened yet. Since I'm an educator at heart, I'd love to provide the opportunity for HS or College students who are majoring in Ag/construction, to work on projects out here, it would be a win/win situation. Those students who need ag projects i.e. plant a vineyard, build a movable fence, build a gate, build small shed structures, oversee chickens (I don't have them yet), and invite homeschool kids to plant a garden, etc, etc. We have the space; now we just need the help. These would be volunteer learning opportunities. There is something about working outdoors and touching the land that is healing for the spirit, soul, and body. It is about learning, being in community, and healing. The Creator made us that way. Many who come to our place say it's peaceful, and I'd agree. It is a SHALOM Oasis. Maybe it's cause I'm part Indigenous, I have this desire to steward the earth and as an extrovert, I like being with people:) Oh, I am also offering CRAFT and GAME days soon and over Easter break, and I'm hoping we can get some crafts made for an elderly home that doesn't have much in decor. ..
