Betsy Fitzgerald is a highly sought-after harpist and pianist specializing in solo and chamber music performances in addition to performing at special events. One of her specialties is performing with studio orchestras and her favorite performances include working with Audra McDonald, Natalie Cole, Doc Severinsen, Pink Martini, Patti Lupone, Steve Vai and Paige O’Hara. In 1998 she began her first
contract with Walt Disney World Entertainment, performing for thousands of guests at the Walt Disney World Resorts as a member of the Disney Grammy Orchestra. Today, she continues to return to Walt Disney World to perform in special performances with the Disney Encore Orchestra. Betsy is the Principal Harpist of the Encore Cast Choir and Orchestra at Walt Disney World and Professor of Harp at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She previously was the Principal Harpist of Sinfonia Gulf Coast in Destin, FL. She can be heard performing locally with arts organizations such as Griffin Choral Arts and Symphony Orchestra Augusta and with numerous church music organizations including Mulberry United Methodist Church, Perry Presbyterian Church, and Christ Church (St. Simons Island). Betsy has considerable experience performing at special events including weddings, military events, cocktail parties, receptions, and corporate parties. Her repertoire is quite vast from classical and Celtic music to Broadway and jazz standards. She enjoys working closely with clients to select the best music for their special occasion. This is particularly important for weddings, where she assists brides and grooms in their selection of the perfect music for their special day. An Atlanta native, Ms. Fitzgerald lives in Macon, GA with her daughter Isabel. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from the Eastman School of Music, the nation’s number one music conservatory, and studied harp performance at the graduate level at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. She also holds a Masters Degree in Arts Administration from Goucher College (Towson, MD). She is available for performances throughout Georgia and the Southeast including Atlanta, Macon, Savannah, St. Simons Island, Hilton Head and Destin.
