30 years in the music business, one massive day of celebration! 🎸🎉

On September 30th, we’re officially celebrating 30 years of making music with a Shadow Sound Studio Re-Grand Opening and our annual Joey Stuckey Alive Day!

To mark the occasion, Southern rock legend Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie, Jeff Beck, Hank Williams Jr.) is joining us right here in Macon for a very special, intimate day.

Here is what’s happening:
✂️ 4:00 PM — Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony outside 473 3rd St.
🎶 4:30 PM — Free acoustic concert with Joey Stuckey & Jimmy Hall on the 2nd floor of 469 3rd St.
🎧 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM — Open studio tours & gear walkthroughs!

NOTE: Seating for the acoustic performance is FREE, but limited strictly to 50 seats on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan to get there early!

The first ever musical act's recording on Les Paul's original 1950s gear inside Les Paul’s iconic studio. Pure history.

I am honored to have made music history at the restored Les Paul Recording Studio in Hollywood!!
I literally wrote “Temple in the Wind” on a whim right as I was putting my guitar away for the afternoon, and it ended up leading me straight into history.
Out September 3rd! This new single marks history as the very first musical act recorded inside United Recording using Les Paul's original, fully restored 1950s gear.
🎛️ “The Monster” – The custom console where multi-track recording was literally born.
🎙️ “The Octopus” – The first 8-track recorder EVER produced.

Hello Stuckeyverse!

Thirty years ago, I opened the doors to Shadow Sound Studio with a passion for making music and a lot of faith. Since then, we’ve made countless memories, recorded incredible artists, and shared a whole lot of love right here in Macon, Ga!

This September 30th is an extra special one. Not only are we celebrating 30 years of making noise at the studio, but we’re hosting our Re-Grand Opening to showcase a whole wave of brand-new equipment and state-of-the-art studio upgrades! On top of that, we’re celebrating another Alive Day, the day I mark surviving the brain tumor that changed my life forever.

Music, community, and life itself are precious gifts, and I want to celebrate all three with the people who made this journey possible: YOU!

We’ve got some big things planned for this triple celebration, so mark your calendars for September 30th.
