I am 5 paintings in to this series on printed materials in secondary circulation. “All That is Left Unaccounted For” is 48x24 and is about obsolescence: dormant infrastructure and systems. I used a variety of vintage ephemera focused on the theme in the collage portion of this mixed media painting.

My painting, Stardust is the Hardest Thing, was accepted in the upcoming regional juried show: All the Fixins: Artists from the South. It opens May 8th at the Reeves House Visual Arts Center in Woodstock. I am thrilled to be part of this show!

In 2016, my family flew out west to visit national parks. Visiting the Neon Boneyard Museum in Vegas was one of my favorite things we did. I keep coming back to those old signs for inspiration. I am fascinated with the history of them and the way they are eroding out in the elements. Here are the 3 that were inspired by the Stardust sign. I really wanted to zoom in with my latest painting. This painting was inspired by a small section from a previous painting. I find myself getting too busy in the work sometimes and I was challenging myself not to do that. This piece is 40x16, Mixed Media on Canvas.

What inspires your art?
I always love to hear what inspires an artist’s painting. I went to the Neon Boneyard Museum several years ago and my fascination with the old neon signs stuck with me and it inspired this painting. This one is 4ftx3ft, Mixed Media on Canvas.
