Mercer University Youth Choirs Mercer University Youth Choirs is dedicated to the development of choral arts for children aged 8 - 18 in the Middle Georgia Region.

The Mercer University Youth Choirs involves 70 singers in four auditioned choirs:

The PREPARATORY CHOIR (ages 8 – 10) is a training choir that performs a limited number of concerts and helps young singers develop healthy singing and performance skills. The TOURING CHOIR (ages 10 – 18) is a performance choir that sings throughout Georgia and conducts an annual out-of-state concert tour. The singe

rs learn to read music, use proper vocal technique, develop creativity, and give an artistic gift to the community. EXULTEMUS (We Rejoice) is composed of choristers from the Preparatory Choir and younger singers from the Touring Choir. CANTIAMO (We Sing) is a rigorously auditioned, select ensemble of singers who have sung in the Touring Choir for a minimum of three years, demonstrate the highest levels of musicianship in audition, and/or have already completed one year of high school. These singers will perform more difficult music as part of our concert season and will be featured on various programs.

We are sad to announce that due to the COVID-19 crisis, we will not hold auditions or perform during the 2020 - 2021 school year. This is a regrettable turn of events, but in order to keep our Choristers and their families safe, it is not possible for us to meet as a Choir.
