Worth reading again...

It's a wrap! The final show of my 19-season Mackinac Island comedy show run is in the can. There have been some previous seasons where the last show is a lumpy, sleepy audience that just left me feeling like I wish it could have been a better show in which to end on. Last night was not like that. It was a great audience, on the comedy bus from joke one, stayed with me, got the jokes, nice mix of improv, audience interaction and prepared material. I am grateful for the show and how it went. Thank you comedy show and Mackinac angels. A fitting and satisfying end. That's gonna be it for the show, thanks for coming out, watch where you walk and walk safely. Good night, Mackinac!

My favorite restaurant in the world in my childhood home town of Rochester, Michigan. I'm proud to say my comedy promo headshot hangs on the wall here, next to Martha Stewart's (pre-prison). Martha's, not mine.

So long to a comedy icon...

Throughout his career, which spanned more than half a century, he delighted viewers as an inept stuntman and as Marty Funkhouser. He died on Wednesday after recently being diagnosed with cancer.

The Mackinac Island State Park Commission accepted my donation of the comedy show sign seen in the profile picture of this FB page. It will be archived as part of the cultural history of the Island. My show ran for 19 seasons until October of 2013. Hard to believe it's already been five years. I'm honored it was accepted and has a home. Thank you to Registrar Brian Jaeschke and Director Phil Porter. There were two of these large signs. I still have the other one.

Here's a nice image of Hans Depypere, owner of Brewery St. Bernardus, showing me his prized sparkasse, from an old and now defunct beer cafe in West Flanders. This was from the recent Farmhouse Ale Tour. Want to learn the fascinating story of sparkassies and their role in Belgian beer culture? Come on a tour and I'll tell you this story and many others. Here I am with my close, personal friend, Ron "Tater Salad" White. Not really. My real close personal friend, Geechy Guy, worked with him at the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas Dec. 15, 2017, so I got to get in on the VIP meet & greet as an industry courtesy. Geech and Ron both did a nice show to a sold out house. I had a lot of fun. Remember, what happens in Vegas, goes on the internet.
