The LHS Choir Department had a great day at KSHSAA State Solo & Ensemble today. Of 9 performances, 5 earned Outstanding (1) ratings and 4 earned Excellent (2) ratings. This is by far the most successful year the LHS Choirs have had at the State Solo/Small Ensemble Contest in several years! Congrats to all these students on their growth this year!

More good news for the LHS Choirs this week! After submitting auditions, twelve students were selected to represent our school in the KCDA Summer Honor Choirs at KU in July! 🦁 🔵 🎶

The Lyons HS Choir program had a great day at the KSHSAA State Large Ensemble contest at Smoky Valley - Lindsborg!

Both the Lionaires and the combined Tenor-Bass Choir came away with Outstanding 1 ratings and new hardware! 🏆 The combined Treble Choir also earned an Excellent 2 rating!

According to the plaques hanging in my room, this is the first time a Lyons HS men’s ensemble has earned a 1 at State Large Group since at least 1983! 🦁 🔵 🎶

The LHS Choir program had an incredible day at KSHSAA Regional Solo & Ensemble contest today. All nine performances received outstanding (I) ratings and will be taking their music to the State contest on Saturday, April 25th. And huge thanks to our extraordinarily talented accompanist Megan Giorgetti!

It's that time! The Lionaires will be delivering Singing Valentines this Friday, February 13th to help fund an end-of-the-year trip for the ensemble! Please complete the online form (linked below) or fill out a paper copy (which you can get from any Lionaieres member).

Singing Valentines can be delivered to anyone in any USD 405 building, in the Lyons community, or outside the community. Prices vary accordingly. One of the songs was even written and arranged by an LHS student. Thanks in advance for your support!

A fundraiser for the Lyons High School Lionaires

Four LHS students were recently named to the Kansas High School All-State Choirs! Our district is one of the largest and most competitive in the state, and these four students were able to earn their spot to perform in one of these incredible ensembles at the annual KMEA Workshop in February along with some of the best singers from across the state. This is the first time Lyons has had students in the high school all-state ensembles since at least 2019, so this is certainly an achievement to be celebrated! Congratulate these students when you see them over the break!

Last Saturday, seven LHS students represented our school as part of the South Central KMEA District Honor Choirs. They gave a wonderful concert at Maize South High School along with students from across our very competitive district.

Congrats to Treble Choir members Aaliyah Gonzalez, Isabel Gonzalez Ramos, Jocelynn Peterman, and Aylin Renteria as well as Mixed Choir members Ava Almanza, Kolton Buckman, and Neriah Nolan.
