My heart was broken today as I said goodbye to a one of our dancers…
Pamela Amancio Fleuriel spent so many years with all of us at Dolly's Dance and Gymnastics. I remember her coming to her first class along with her sister Diane when she was just a little girl. Pam loved to dance and was always smiling and happy. So many classes, recitals and so many happy memories of Pam, Diane and their cousins.
Fly high with the angels Pamela. We will miss you. 💝

Heaven has gained another angel.
Father Mike is a man that will always have a very special place in my heart.
In his many years at St Mary’s he did so much for me and all of the kids from Studio B and Dolly’s Dance and Gymnastics.
When the food pantry opened in the chapel basement and it looked like we would be displaced, he very generously volunteered to share his space with us. He would come in early every Saturday morning to wash the floor and help me transition the room into our secondary dance room. We’d work hand in hand while he’d tell me jokes and ask about my week. When finished he’d always give me a blessing and go on his way. He’d appear again at the end of my day with that big smile and another joke.
This is just a small part of what he did for me and all of the kids over the years. I was so very blessed to have him in my life.
The man never stopped and never complained. He’s touched so many lives. Rest In Peace Father Mike. You will be so missed. ❤️

Fr. Mike was assigned to St. Mary’s Parish in 1988. He was the driving force behind the church food pantry. Many will remember him by his jokes, he always had one! He was beloved by so many and will be missed! 🙏

Remembering Ashley Forward…

Memories of a feisty little blond dancing and tumbling her way through our studio are filling our hearts today. And that infectious smile…
Some kids touch your heart in ways that you’ll never forget.

Our love and prayers go out to the Luongo and Forward families as they try to cope with the grief and shock of losing their their beloved Ashley.

Our hearts ache today at such a senseless loss but heaven is even brighter as it has gained a special angel.
You will be so missed Ashley. Fly high sweetie. 💝

Congratulations to Alice Parker, our karate instructor! Enjoy your retirement Alice! 💝

Congratulations to Officer Alice Parker who retired today after 26 years with the department. Officer Parker was assigned to the Training Unit for many years where one of her responsibilities was Designated Infection Control Officer. Over the past year her dedication to that role was instrumental in keeping the department in a position to serve the city during the height of the pandemic. Throughout her career, Officer Parker utilized her paramedic background to organize and instruct EMT courses which allowed numerous officers to acquire a higher level of medical training. Best of luck in your retirement!

Costume Pick Up...

Hi Dance and Gymnastics families!

We know you must be wondering what’s on the horizon for Studio B this fall…

Studio B has been pretty quiet this summer but this doesn’t mean we haven’t been missing and thinking about all of you. We have!

We loved seeing so many of you at our Recital Day Celebration. It was far from a typical Recital Day but we still had lots of fun! You looked great in your costumes and your smiles were so bright!

In the spring we were planning and replanning what to do next. Things were changing on a daily basis. In May we decided to go ahead with the celebration and to end our season. It was very sad but the right decision for us. Getting back in class and having a recital just wasn’t anything we could effectively do. Your routines are complex and very interactive. We couldn’t practice while staying safe and socially distant.

And now it’s time to look at the fall…

Our biggest concern here at Studio B is keeping all of our students, families and staff safe and healthy.

We have always prided ourselves by offering you the best dance and gymnastic training available in a safe, fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Because Studio B offers both dance and gymnastics classes, this complicates things for us, more than for some of the other schools. Social distancing is difficult but doable when teaching dance but nearly impossible while safely teaching the kids in our gymnastics classes. With all of the new rules and regulations in place for schools, we’ve realized that opening classes in the fall would look very different from those we have happily offered you in the past.

Now the tough decision…
With the recent spike and uncertainty of Covid in our area, we have decided to “press the pause button” here at Studio B. We’re broken hearted about this but we feel it’s what we have to do to keep everyone safe. We will not be opening for in person classes at this point. Covid won’t last forever and the more we work at stopping the spread, the faster we’ll get through all of this.

What about the future?
Here at Studio B we’re going to take things one step at a time. As the Covid situation progresses, we’ll continue re-evaluating things. Similar to the public schools, we’ll make the next decision about Studio B in November.

One last note…
If you haven’t picked up your Recital Costumes from the past season, please message us, or call 781 595-8811, and we’ll arrange a time for you to do so.

Until then, stay healthy and safe. We miss you!

Love,
Miss Betty
Lisa, Joleen, Marcy, Amanda and Alice
