Boys dance, fullstop. There's no "too", because this shouldn't be an afterthought. It's a fact. Boys dance. Girls dance. Men dance. Women dance.

Ballet is beautiful and artistic and athletic and challenging and fulfilling in so many ways. If someone wants to laugh because a kid loves it, it's their loss that they can't see beyond their preconceived notions of masculinity and are unable to appreciate an art form that's truly incredible.

And guess what — it means you are all doing it right, because you make what is so difficult look effortless, refined and artistic...and you know what, easy. You make it look easy.

That lady was laughing because you guys are too good at your jobs and make ballet look effortless.
BE LESS GOOD PEOPLE. STOP BEING SO AMAZING.

It is with a deep sadness that I write this, we have made the decision to close Ballet Arekso until further notice. I won’t say that we are closed for good, but I also can’t say that we will reopen. What we do know is that for the time being we cannot move forward. A more in depth e-mail has been sent out to our clients. I want to thank each of you for your support over the years and for being apart of our dance family. God has used dance to gift me immensely in this life and I hope and pray that we have been able to pass on that gift to each of you. I know there will be much heartbreak with this news but please know the greatest heartbreak is my own. I end this with so much gratitude to each of you.
