Hello hello! Itās been a minute. The days seemed to keep coming, and suddenly days turned to weeks, which turned to months since Iāve picked up a paintbrush. As you can see, my beautiful office space has now become a beautiful play place for my babies.
You guys deserve a little update as we move towards fall (my previous expected time to pick back up with taking orders). To be completely honest and probably a little bit dramatic, having two kids has altered my brain chemistry š
The past 6 years of The Doodle Mark have been a wonderful blessing from God. What started as a relaxing pastime to help me heal, turned into a full blown business. If youāve kept up, the last 6 years have been anything but boring. After developing lupus, meeting my husband, getting married and then finding out we were expecting- I had a potential cancer scare during my pregnancy (which turned out to be a fibroadenoma PTL!), then after having our son we had an actual cancer scare with Matt. After his treatment, we got pregnant with Millie while building our house and then moved in and started a home to bring our girl back to! Finally, Matt entered the entrepreneurial space himself and started a business in Tullahoma this summer. Itās been a whirlwind and since having our girl, Iām not going to lie, Iāve struggled. Iāve developed a bit more of that pesky anxiety than I typically have and Iām just plum tired. My trust in the Lord to guide my steps has seen me through the years, but itās finally time that I think He is guiding me to rest (REST?! What even is that?!)
This page will still be here. Iām not getting rid of it, because who knows if I may be called back to paint. But it might change a little bit. Iām hoping to spend time creating with my littles, creating for myself and just put the pieces back together a little at a time. Maybe this is a good place to document this- we will see!
Thank you to everyone who has ordered from me through the years. You kept me above water, you are part of my testimony, and proof God is good! You allowed me to learn so many things, develop my skills and teach me things about my self that I didnāt know were there. I love you all and pray you all understand.
Xo,
Hillary
