Seven Hills Dance Studio has been dancing through Lynchburg since 1939 – teaching hundreds of students ages 3 and up how to point, shuffle, pirouette, and leap, all with style and grace, and of course, all while having fun! The studio was born in 1939 as Floyd Ward School of Dancing on Fifth Street in dow

ntown Lynchburg. 1984 saw a transition to a new home in Boonsboro Shopping Center beneath a new name, Lynda Bell’s Floyd Ward School of Dancing, and then in 1992 into what we know today – Seven Hills Dance Studio. Seven Hills Dance Studio has evolved throughout the years, always maintaining quality dance instruction with professional teachers and innovative choreography. At Seven Hills we strive to enhance the creative, mental, physical and social growth of our students through the art, joy and love of dance.

For every dancer stepping on stage for their very first recital, there’s another taking their final bow. We are so grateful for our graduating seniors who have spent years setting the example, raising the bar, and showing our littlest dancers what dedication, kindness, and passion can become.

We already miss dancing with you! We LOVED this seasons Senior Company Tap routine 🤩 Such an incredible feel-good dance that highlights these girls love for their sport and their team.

This routine brought home Platinum from , Crystal Diamond, 1st Overall, Top Scoring Competition Tap Routine + the Golden Egg Award at Inspire, and Platinum, 1st in Category + 4th Overall Senior Small Group 👏

We can’t wait to continue sharing more from this season with you. Proud of these dancers!!

One final special shoutout before recital weekend comes to an end. Someone who has helped shape the heart of Seven Hills for the past 27 years… ❤️

Mrs. Stacy is officially stepping into what we lovingly call “dance retirement,” and there truly are not enough words to express what she means to our SHDS family.

For nearly three decades, she has taught and inspired so many dancers — from our alumni, to many of our alumni’s babies, to generations of students who have grown up in her classrooms. She has choreographed for our competition team, ridden a unicycle across the recital stage, made us laugh when we needed it most, and brought kindness, steadiness, and joy into every room she entered.

Mrs. Stacy is so much more than a teacher — she is a dear friend and such a special part of Seven Hills Dance Studio. While she’s not going far, she will be deeply missed here at SHDS.

Mrs. Stacy, we love you so much and are endlessly grateful for everything you have poured into this studio and into all of us over the last 27 years. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the love, and the legacy you leave behind.

We cannot wait to dance with you one last time on stage today. 🤍

Our final senior spotlight! Layla!

You can catch Layla this weekend playing Tinker Bell 🧚‍♀️

She has been dancing for 15 years, starting at just 3 years old 🤍

After graduation, she’ll be attending the University Of Georgia to study Spanish and Business 🎓

“Dance is more than a sport, it’s family. Seven Hills has become a second home and somewhere where I know I am always loved and welcomed. Peers turned into sisters and teachers turned into second mothers. I wouldn’t be where I am today without everything they have given and sacrificed for me. Thank you to everyone who makes the studio feel like a home.”

It’s recital weekend and we truly can’t believe it’s finally here! 🤍 As we round out our Senior Spotlights, tonight we’re celebrating our sweet Grace!

Grace has been dancing since she was 3 years old and this weekend she’ll be taking the stage as Silvermist in our recital. ✨

After graduation, she’ll be heading to the University of Kentucky to major in Pre-Dental!

“The studio has given me a place where I always feel loved and supported. It has given me a family away from home and I am so grateful for it.”

Grace, we are so proud of you and so honored to have been a place you’ve called home for so many years. We can’t wait to see all this next chapter has in store for you, and we cannot wait to watch you shine on stage one last time this weekend💜
