Please join us in welcoming Katie Martin as our summer 2026 Gallery Intern and Artist-in-Residence. A ceramicist and Lynchburg native, Katie is currently studying art education at Virginia Wesleyan University. We're so excited to have her with us for the next few months!

Riverviews' Artist-In-Residence program is designed to be flexible and tailored to the individual artist, giving residents the space, resources, and freedom to explore their practice on their own terms. This summer, Katie will have access to a shared artist studio as she deepens her ceramics practice, while also gaining hands-on gallery experience as part of our team.

Katie will be greeting visitors in the gallery on weekdays this summer and hosting an open studio on First Fridays. Find her pottery for sale locally at Scratch Pasta Co. and by commission. And please stop by Riverviews soon to meet Katie and say hello!

Join us for a laid-back collage session in the gallery—no experience needed, no rules to follow. All materials provided. All ages welcome, little ones, grown-ups, seasoned artists, and total beginners. No pressure or expectations, just a good excuse to make something with your hands.

Attend a workshop and join a large-scale collective work assembled by artist Santé Johnson!

In each session, you'll create your own fabric square using a mix of techniques — stitching, painting, beading, and more — choosing the approach that feels right to you. Facilitators trained by Santé will guide and support your creative process every step of the way. No experience necessary.

Each square becomes a part of the finished work, to be unveiled at the opening of Santé’s exhibition "How Will Our Ancestors Find Us?" at Riverviews Artspace on June 26.
