Turns out, running a needlepoint business requires knowing quite a bit more than needlepoint. Who knew?⁠

There’s a lot that happens behind the pretty boxes and beautiful threads. And perhaps knowing that gives all of us a little more room for grace.⁠

It's time for a little cauldron magic. 🧙‍♀️

My Cauldron by Barbara Basso is back from the framer, and she's absolutely magical. Pun completely intended.

Kathy stitched this one and finished it in no time flat. Even better, she kept telling me how much FUN it was to stitch.

That's the secret of Barbara Basso's canvases. They can look incredibly complicated at first glance—so many patterns, textures and little details—but once you start breaking them down, one section naturally leads to the next.

This one is only 8" x 10" on 18-count, so you get all that fabulous stitching without committing yourself until approximately 2037. 😄

And there's so much to play with. The wild-haired witch, the bubbling cauldron, the trees and castle and, of course, that wonderfully weird furry black cat.

And we’re back! 🎉⁠

Well, that was certainly not how I planned to spend the last couple of days.⁠
⁠
The Bedecked & Beadazzled website experienced an unexpected security issue that took us offline while everything was investigated, cleaned up, and made safe again. I’m very sorry for the downtime — and especially for anyone who was trying to shop, check an order, or just come visit us while we were temporarily missing in action.⁠
⁠
The good news is that we’re back online and you can once again wander through all the colorful, sparkly needlepoint goodness.⁠
⁠
Thank you for your patience, your messages, and for sticking with us through our unexpected little internet adventure.⁠

🎃 Our little Pumpkin Harlequin is officially underway!

Lesson One gave him a sparkling harlequin background, beaded Trick or Treat lettering (of course!), and a face that's already full of personality.

Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. Even changing the direction of the stitches on his little nose helps define the shape of the pumpkin.

I can't wait to show you Lesson Two!

This long, skinny pup is filled with wonderful stitches and texture, but when it came to framing, we kept things simple and sweet. Soft blue, slim silver frame, done.⁠

🚨 ROCKY NEEDS A HOME — and we need to find his person quickly. Please share! ❤️🐾

This sweet little guy is Rocky. He belonged to a dear friend of mine who is now in long-term care and can no longer care for him.

Rocky is 14 years old and just 12 pounds — a little senior gentleman whose primary career goal at this point is apparently Professional Snuggle Companion. And by all reports, he is VERY good at his job.

❤️ He loves to snuggle
🐾 He’s good with other dogs
🧸 He’s starting to discover that toys are actually pretty fun
🐱 He lived with a cat for eight years. He did chase the cat, but never hurt him. (I can personally vouch for this because I now have the cat!)
❤️ Mostly, he just wants someone to love and a cozy place to land.

Rocky is currently safe and being fostered by one of my wonderful besties in Columbia, Maryland, but this is temporary. We need to find him a forever home — and we need to do it quickly.

I know the right person is out there. Maybe it’s you. Maybe it’s your mom, your neighbor, your friend who has been talking about wanting a little companion. Maybe you know someone who would absolutely adore having a sweet 12-pound snugglebug curled up beside them.
