We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our local and surrounding communities with monetary and item donations. We will have FOUR days of silent auctions and raffles at the event. Here is another example of the outpouring of support and generosity. Again this year, Mr. Ike Jordan, a friend to all of us in the Bluegrass family, has donated an instrument...THANK YOU IKE! Make sure to come by the raffle table and get your tickets!

🎶🤎 HAT #1 — A HAT WITH A HEART BEHIND IT 🤎🎶

Some hats are made to be worn. Some are made to tell a story. And some are made for a purpose bigger than either.

I created this one especially with the spirit of bluegrass in mind — “My Grass Is Blue” — with every detail thoughtfully handmade, from the music-note hatband and feathers to the hand-burned artwork on the brim.

But this hat means even more because I am honored to donate it to the auction at Pickin' At The Post - Bo Grass Weekend Pickin’ at the Post Bluegrass Festival, where 100% of the proceeds from the auction will benefit our veterans. 🇺🇸

As a small business owner and a maker, being able to use something I love creating to give back to those who have given so much for us means the world to me.

So this isn't just a hat.

It’s a little piece of my heart, made with my hands, given with gratitude, and offered in honor of those who served. 🇺🇸🎶🤎

I hope whoever takes this hat home will wear it proudly — knowing that their purchase is helping give back to the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom.

And this is just the beginning. This is Hat #1 of three special hats I will be creating and donating for the auction. I can’t wait to share the next two with you. 🤎

Just a reminder....we need donations for the dime pitch and the bake sale! Let us know if you would like to donate! Thank you for your support! We appreciate everyone that has already donated and those that have pledged baked goods!

We will be having our dime pitch and bake sales again this year!
As always, 100% of the proceeds benefit our amazing veterans! If you have glassware to donate you can bring it to the event or let us know ahead of time and we will make arrangements to get it. If you want to bake something for the bake sale or make cookies/brownies/cupcakes/etc to sell in the food booth along with meals it will be greatly appreciated. Items can be brought to the event or we will make arrangements for getting your baked goods. You have been amazing with your support these past 12 years and we truly appreciate your generosity. Let's make year 13 the best one yet! THANK YOU!!!!!!

The response has been incredible from area businesses and individuals! Items are still rolling in and we couldn't be more appreciative! Make plans to attend and get ready to bid! Remember...our veterans receive 100% of the proceeds!

If you responded to our first post about the meal, we have you down! If you have not responded, please let us know if you plan to grab a meal and visit with your Bluegrass friends! The meal will be at 6 pm on Wednesday night - September 2, 2026. It is $15 per person and will be pulled pork BBQ, 2 sides, dessert and a drink! Don't forget the outdoor movie will follow on the big screen! The proceeds will go to the VFW Auxiliary. Thanks for your support!

WILL YOU BE JOINING US FOR THE OUTDOOR MEAL AND MOVIE NIGHT? The VFW Auxiliary did not request that you reserve or buy tickets ahead of time. However, they would like a general idea of how many will be attending. You can respond on this Facebook message to let us know. Please pass this along to anyone that may not have Facebook. If they don't, they can respond to Beth or call her at 540-742-2338. Thanks and we hope to see you there! The meal is at 6pm on Wednesday September 2, followed by the outdoor movie on the big screen!

10 WEEKS AND COUNTING! We are getting excited for this year's event! The past 12 years have been nothing short of amazing thanks to our sponsors, contributors, bands, vendors and all of you that come back year after year! We are on track to make this another fantastic year. GREAT EVENT - GREAT MUSIC - GREAT PRICE - GREAT CAUSE! If you are a regular, we thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you again this year. If you have never been, make plans to attend. We are at capacity for the campground, but there is a waiting list. If you would like to be placed on that list call Mike Minnick at 540-244-6416. There are lots of hotels close by if you don't live local. You won't beat the price anywhere for this amount of entertainment and 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS GO TO HELP OUR VETERANS! Again this year we will have homemade concessions for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have the dime pitch, vendors, veteran luminary ceremony and Flotzie's will be back with tasty treats. We will have a daily 50/50 and silent auctions. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday night of the festival. This festival has lots of jamming....both in the campground and inside the post building. We have 2 large covered pavilions so it's a rain or shine event! We are having the outdoor meal and movie night again this year on Wednesday. 100% of the proceeds from that meal will benefit operations of the VFW Auxiliary. We promise to make you feel welcome!
