Meet Kennedy! CTAP’s Student of the Week!

Kennedy joins us in Oz as a Winkie Guard and a Jitterbug. That means she’s part of the Wicked Witch’s army and one of her rascally, evil dancing jitterbugs who buzz and sting!

She earned this week’s Student of the Week recognition by listening to her directors and leading by example for her peers. She works hard and knows her stuff! Trust me, these Jitterbugs will dance YOUR shoes off! Dorothy needs to hold onto her ruby slippers around these Jitterbugs!

Kennedy hopes you’ll come see her and the rest of the cast this November as they bring the wonderful Land of Oz to life on stage!

🌟 Meet Arianna! This week's Student of the Week! 🌟

Arianna has been part of the CTAP family for many seasons, and this fall she takes the stage in The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition as our Miss Gulch! She’s not too fond of Toto though! We all know Ms. Gulch isn’t so nice! She may just need to turn her bicycle in for a broomstick! Arianna however, is one kindest folks you’ll ever meet! She’s a star performer!

She earned this week’s Student of the Week recognition by coming to rehearsal focused and ready to dance! She knows her lines and her dances! She's ready to cut a rug! Her dedication to the craft is rare among students these days!

We are so proud of the hard work she is putting into her role, and we can’t wait for audiences to see her shine!

🌈 Come see Arianna and the entire CTAP cast this November as they bring the wonderful Land of Oz to life on stage! 🎭✨

We still can’t get over how incredible Gravity was or how extraordinary this opportunity was for our CTAP students!

Having the chance to perform and share our love of the arts with the very people who help make experiences like this possible for young artists meant so much to us. Our students not only experienced an outstanding professional performance, but also had the opportunity to hear firsthand stories, advice, and experiences from professionals working in the world of theatre.

These are the kinds of moments that inspire young performers, broaden their understanding of the arts, and remind them just how many possibilities exist beyond the stage they know today.

A huge thank you to Janet Meier for spearheading this event alongside James Bass and GPAC and helping make such a memorable experience possible. Thank you as well to Beth Perry for pulling costumes together on such short notice, and to all of our wonderful parents who helped wrangle, organize, and support our students throughout the event. And of course, Hearts for the Arts who help make the arts more accessible for local young audiences and community organizations by providing subsidized tickets for students and eligible nonprofits.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who helped give our CTAP kids an experience they will remember for years to come!

Madalynne is making her CTAP debut as the Wicked Witch of the West in our production The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition!

She’s far from wicked, but on stage she’s something to behold! Surrender Dorothy! She’s after those ruby slippers! 👠

She earned this week’s Student of the Week recognition by coming to rehearsal prepared, focused, and willing to jump in to character work to help being the Wicked Witch to life! After all, some roles are worth melting for! 💚

We are so proud of the hard work she is putting, and we can’t wait for audiences to see her shine! Or is it melt? Either way, she’s going to defy expectations and gravity!

In our family, theatre is a family sport. I would not be where I am today without the love, encouragement, and unwavering support of my mother who always pushed me to keep going and reminding me never to dim my light.

A huge shoutout to all the moms working tirelessly behind the scenes: hidden in the shadows of the wings backstage, helping with costumes, building and painting sets, volunteering front of house, organizing, running the booster club, cheering on performers, and so much more. The list is truly endless.

Thank you for supporting your bright young stars and helping ensure the success of our productions while strengthening our program and theatre family. Together we are cultivating the Stars of Tomorrow! It truly takes a village to do what we do, and each of you helps make the magic happen beautifully.
