Dear Supporters,
It is with great honor that the Lumbee Storyteller has been given the awesome opportunity to host a cultural event for Native American Indian Heritage Month at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center. This event is a collaborative effort with input from the following entities: Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, Lumbee Regional Development Association, Public Schools of Robeson County, and Public Schools of Robeson County’s Indian Education Program.
The students will have an opportunity to learn and be actively involved in many facets of the field trip event. There will be storytellers, drum demonstrations, powwow dancing, basket weaving, beading, animal tanning and other interactive Native activities for the students to participate in.
With such a monetary undertaking including permits, portable toilets, security, sound, etc., we would like to solicit local businesses and the community to help with the costs of this event. Our hope is to keep the cost to participants at a minimum or even free. We ask that you give strong consideration to donating to/ or sponsoring this very worthwhile cultural event.
The cultural event will be held on November 15th, 16th, and 17th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lumbee Storyteller Tammie Jump at 910.536.0332 or [email protected].
Thank you in advance for your donations!
Sincerely,
Tammie Jump
