Wow! What a day! We had a little College Game Day theme for try outs today and everyone showed up and showed out! We had a great group of kids that tried out for lots of various styles and we were super blessed with an incredible line up of teachers! We had Darius from the Carolina Dance Team, Caroline from the Carolina Competitive Group at USC, Emma from the Charleston Southern Dance Team, Alasia from Lander Dance Team (headed to USC Upstate Dance Team next season) and Mrs Caitlyn from our own PDC staff for our tap combo. The kids danced full out from 9:30am-6:30pm and we are so proud of their efforts! They started with a sassy jazz/musical theater combo, then a beautiful contemporary/lyrical combo, had a little break for lunch then hit the dance floor again with amazing hip hop combos, and then a tap combo (clogging combos to be done soon). At the end of the afternoon Darius offered a bonus class for those ready to step it up and branch out exploring more with improv and building their presence as a dancer - have to say watching the transformations in this class was inspiring for those who took the challenge in this class! Again so blessed for an amazing tryout day! Looking forward now to the fun challenge of building the teams, creating the schedule, and launching season 19 for our competitive program. Thank you to all who took part today!

PDC is about to be rocking in June! Don’t miss out - get signed up TODAY!

Here’s what’s coming up:
1. June Mini Session - June 2-25 - classes for all ages, levels, and styles. See full line up at www.palmettodancecenter.net

2. New Fitness class for adults and older teens looking to build their core strength this summer. See flyer for details - classes will be Tuesday and Thursdays at 6:15pm and Saturdays at 9am

3. Competition Team Try Outs - Friday, June 5th. Contact Britton at (803) 466-4437 for full schedule and to sign up

4. PDC wants to give back - help us next week by flooding our lobby with donations for our local school’s food box. Wateree has an active box that helps support area kids and families during the summer and we need your help!! Collect and see flyer for drop off times!

The time is here!!! We have an amazing summer line up with some pop up days still to come. Flip through the flyers and go online TODAY to reserve your spot. Current dancers can go directly to parent portal and all can go to www.palmettodancecenter.net

Quick Overview (all events will get their own post in coming days)

JUNE MINI SERIES - June 1-25 - 4 week mini session of classes on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Class prices vary or for older kids with multiple classes - the unlimited for June will be $175

NEW and EXCITING- help me welcome Kenny White who will be launching our new Body Sculpting Classes for Adults and older teens looking to gain core strength. For June it will be $40 for unlimited Body Sculpting Classes which will be Tuesday and Thursdays at 6:15 and we are looking to add in a Saturday Class too! You can also do a $10 drop in fee

Competition Team Tryouts - not too late to sign up. Try outs will be Friday, June 5th!

Wow wow wow is all I can say!!! I am still blown away at this weekend! 2 sold out shows at LEHS on Saturday and 3 packed houses at the studio today for 3 silks recitals and everything went GREAT! I cannot say thank you enough to every single person who had any part - big or small - in the weekend’s events! My family, staff, alumni, and volunteers worked SUPER hard to make everything run so smoothly, dancers danced their hearts out, silks performers gave it their all, and every single person in every audience cheered and supported every dancer on stage! There is really no words to describe my gratitude but I hope everyone knows I love and appreciate them so very much! And a huge thank you to dancers and staff for my incredibly thoughtful gifts and card and to all who have text and sent messages afterwards of such positive feedback (and yes I can always count on Liz Brown to supply my Sunday after recital shirt when I have had no time for laundry, all recital shirts are dirty, but I have more shows to go - lol). I am reminded this weekend I am right where God wants me! Thank you again to everyone!

And big thanks to Adelyn for my hand made Cocky - he was our mascot for the weekend!

2 sold out recital today were AMAZING and now prepped for 3 sold out silks recitals for tomorrow!! Lots more to post but the ability to function has left for today! Big thank you to everyone who has a part in today - the best take away from the day is I AM BLESSED with those most amazing dancers and support system ever! Love you all and good night 😁

Boss 1 and Boss 2 are READY!!!! Recitals are tomorrow at Lugoff Elgin High School - shows at 10am and 2pm. VERY few tickets left for either so and they will be CASH ONLY

Doors will open at 9:15 and 1:15. EVERYONE must enter through the lobby doors and have tickets ready to present! Reminder - if you have a yellow all access ticket - you will need to hold onto it for the 2nd show as we will clear the auditorium between shows and you will need it to get back in

Parking is in front lot and in student lot off of Richardson Rd.
