If you’ve never worked in oil, its takes a loooong while to “dry.” For oil it’s not the air that dries the paint, but the Sun’s UVs that cure the pigments in place. When it’s fully cured, its beauty can be seen for generations to come. And I feel quite certain the beauty of Wyatt and Sydnie love for one other will be seen for generations as well, because of the bond they have through The Son. They have been so patient waiting on their finished wedding portrait. I hope they enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed painting their beautiful day.

One of the most important parts of getting a live wedding portrait right is to make sure you have the right angle, but in Will & Zoey’s case I don’t think it’s even possible to find a bad angle. I recently had the opportunity to do a live wedding painting for Colton and Shelby Amodeo. As much fun as it was to be in the moment painting such a lovely couple, I have to say it was even more fun just being at such a heart warming wedding! You could feel the love from beginning to end. Some wedding can feel stagnant with stress about the day, but not this one! The whole evening was filled with many teary happy eyes because the love this young couple feels for each other could be felt by every person present. Truly one of the most beautiful wedding I have had the opportunity to experience. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Amodeo 💕

As an artist the thought of one day commissioning a memorial portrait has always made me nervous. As a Christian I know God will carry me through all things, even the nervousness of trying something new. That day has now come and gone, and I’ve learned so much while painting this beautiful Nana and her greatgrands.
