For those that don’t know, Stacy lost her husband at the age of 29 and was left to raise two young boys on her own. Her husband was tragically killed in the line of duty while serving for the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.
He was responding to a fight in progress call and was hit by a drunk driver. The impact threw the two gentlemen from the truck into the street. Cpl Harvey’s patrol unit flew in the air, hit a utility pole, landed in a field and proceeded to catch on fire.
Because the two men were thrown from the truck, they could never prove whom was driving, therefore, justice was never served.
Today, Peace Officers Memorial Day, new names will be read on the Capitol lawn. More families will go through what the Harvey’s have. Take the time today to pray for the families, departments, friends, and coworkers of those that are left behind to honor their sacrifice.😔
