Double Your Chances of Making a Profit At the Horse Races With One Move

If you are one of the many people who are handicapping horse races and trying to make a profit, you would probably like to be able to double your profit without too much work. The easiest way to do that is right under your nose. Before we discuss how to increase your profit, or perhaps to start actually making a profit, let's talk about your record keeping.
Most of us don't like the arduous task of keeping records, especially when we are playing the ponies. For one thing, it takes a lot of fun out of it and secondly, it is a lot of tedious work. This is where you have to make a decision. Are you a recreational horse player who just wants to wager on races and have some fun, or are you a serious horse player who wants to make a profit? If you are doing it just for fun, then set aside an amount of money you can afford to lose and have a ball.
On the other hand, if you are trying to make it pay, you'd better keep track of the money. Picking winners is fun, but finding good bets is how you actually succeed at horse racing handicapping. How will you know whether you're doing a good job of it if you don't know which bets that you make are profitable and which ones are losers? Being able to eliminate bets that don't show a profit is one quick way to increase your r.o.i., return on investment.
Now here is another way to increase profits dramatically and it only takes a few minutes. First of all, find out how much each bet costs. I don't mean the amount that you risk, but rather the amount the track takes out of the pool. The percentage of takeout, or vig as it is sometimes called, varies from track to track and state to state. Paying over 20% at one track and around 15% at another can have a big impact.
Let's say you make a profit of 10% and you're playing at a track that charges 21% on the bets you make, moving your action to a track that charges 15% increases your results by 5%, which just happens to be a 50% increase in your profit. That's right, just by playing at a different track you may actually be able to increase your profit.
You will also be voting for a lower takeout with your money. If enough horse players do that and handles change according to the takeout, state lawmakers who set those figures will start to pay attention and start treating us as consumers and customers rather than thinking of us as sheep who can be easily led and who will accept whatever is given to us.

If you want to learn how a horse owner and insider handicaps just go to http://williewins.homestead.com/truecb.html and get the truth. Bill Peterson is a former horse race owner and professional handicapper. To see all Bill's horse racing material go to Horse Racing Handicapping, Bill's handicapping store.

Restaurant Planters
Restaurant's main goal is to attract more customers and gain more and more profit. That is one main reason why they invest a lot in materials that could entice customers and make them feel cozy. Many ways have proven to deal with this dilemma. Some restaurants create an environment that depicts more lighting either in melodramatic or modern style to make that cozy ambiance. Others though use music and color to make customers more relaxed. There are those as well that likes to invest in furniture and design ornaments. These materials for them are more beneficial. For instance, finding the perfect chairs and tables that could last for a life time is more preferable. Business practitioners also invests in quality services and foods because then again this is what most customers are looking and after for. Furniture and ornaments for restaurant designs are not that hard to find. One example of a furniture ornament that is very vital to any restaurant is restaurant planters. Restaurant planters have different uses; they could either be used in the inside or outside. Most planters that are used as exterior ornaments can be used not just for design, but could also be used as extenders of the restaurant's space or as borders. Outside restaurant planters plays a vital role, they could either entice more customers or create a more appealing ambiance. Inside restaurant planters, however, are perfect ornamental designs as plants can make any space look fresh and greener. There are different styles and materials for these planters. They could be made out wood, such as red wood and cedar. These materials are best for restaurants that are more traditional in style. Other materials are aluminum, steel, and fiber glasses. These materials are more durable, yet are costly. PVC planters are another substitute to expensive restaurant planters. PVC planters are as durable as other materials, yet it is more flexible in style and is cost effective. These materials like others could withstand any weather, either hot or cold. They are not easy to be damaged too. They do not easily chip off, wither, or rot. Unlike other materials, they are 100% UV repellant too. Restaurant planters are just one of the many materials that could be used to style and décor a restaurant. They are effective ornaments that do not only enhance beauty, but are multipurpose items too. Planters are flexible materials and are great invests that could last for a lifetime.

The Fascinating History of Movie Theaters

The theatre is a place where people may go to enjoy an opera, ballet, play or a movie. Other forms of entertainment have taken place for centuries but going to the theatre to see a movie first made it's mark in the early part of the 20th century. Throughout history, theaters have traditionally been places that people go to for entertainment. Of all of the forms of entertainment that take place in the theatres, movies are a newer art form.
One of the first movie palaces was built in New York City in 1913. A movie theater was originally called a movie palace. They were beautiful structures where silent films were shown and then later, films with sound. During this time, most theater productions were Vaudeville acts which were more expensive and harder to get seats than going to the movies. The success of movie palaces were based on its low admission price and unreserved seating.
Popcorn was first served in movie theaters in 1912 as a cheap and delicious snack. Between 1914 to 1922 there was an expansion of movie palaces. In 1907 a movie cost only five cents. This is actually where the name "Nickel"odeon came from when referring to movie palaces. There were approximately 4,000 new theaters built in the United States built during this time. The drive-in theater was very popular during the 1950's and 1960's but they have now diminished to a few hundred around the United States. The first multiplex for movies was built in 1963. This complex had two full screens and 700 seats. The first air conditioned movie theater was built in 1922.
Many other venues were built to show movies. The first drive in theater was built in 1933 and was in the state of New Jersey. There are only a few drive-in movie theatres available today. Drive-in movie theatres became very popular during the 1960's. Moviegoers would watch the films either in their cars or on top of the hood of their car .These were outdoor theaters were cars parked in front of an outdoor screen. They were provided with portable speakers to hear the sound or in some cases the sound came from an FM radio frequency.
In 1905 in Pittsburgh, the first nickelodeon was built. This theater had five cent movies hence the name nickelodeon. The first permanent movie house was built in 1902 in California. This theatre was a storefront setup that was part of a factory building. They soon became very popular and spread throughout the United States. In Canada, the first large scale movie theater in the world was built. This was the first time multiple movies were shown in one facility.
During the 1950's and 1960's, many theaters were built across the country due to their growing popularity. The screens became bigger and the facilities became more elaborate. The theaters were built to attract more patrons. The theaters included more comfortable seats, air conditioning and stereophonic sound systems. The number of seats a theater could hold increased.
As the popularity of the movie theaters continued to go, so did the size of the facilities. Multiple restrooms and concession counters were installed. The seats were built on an elevated floor to provide visibility for all seats. Large multi-plex theaters were built around shopping centers. The lobby sizes expanded to capacity other theater rooms within the complex. The theaters had stadium seating with multiple balconies.

R4 Card: Making The Ds Even More Fun!
There are many stores which have a wide collection of accessories, games and consoles which can be used for the DS, and DSi. They often also provide R4 which can be used as a way to play MP3s, back up your games and play homebrew applications through your Nintendo handheld consoles. You may not be sure of what a R4 card is, so here is a quick break down.
When you visit an online gaming store you will be able to look at all of the current gaming accessories for sale. One of the most popular items is the R4. This is a great piece of technology which has been designed for you to get the most out of your DS or DSi consoles. They fit neatly into the slot in the back of your console and although they are small, the pack in a lot of clever software.
In the top of the R4 is a tiny slot, this is for a micro SD card to sit in. This is where you can store all of your data. You will be able to keep backup copies of your DS games, eBooks, and music, firmware and homebrew applications. You can then access all of the stored data on your console.
Homebrew games are free games made by people in their spare time. There are hundreds of games and applications that you can simply download onto your R4 card with the micro SD installed. Download the game and then drag and drop it into your micro SD. It really is that simple. Then all you need to do is put the card into your DS and you can play all of the games you want. You can also access the internet, obtain great eBooks to read, play your music and watch films.
As part of many retailers buyers conditions they often state that they do not condone the use of the R4 to play pirated games, movies or music. In the United Kingdom you are entitled to make backup copies of any games, movies or music that you own. That is the sole reason for the sale of the R4 card. If you choose to download pirated material, you must be aware of the legal implications you may face. Online shops are not responsible for your actions. If they suspect you will be using the card for illegal purposes you will be refused the sale. Please check the backup copyright laws for your country.
You can have great fun with the R4, and it saves having to carry around a lot of expensive games and risk losing them when out and about. It will help you make the most of your consoles capabilities, and open up doors for having even more fun, for free, legally thanks to the homebrew creators.
