Our dog died in May and we got a new puppy. That's certainly put a crimp in art time.
I've finished this portrait! Hannah can get her birthday gift along with Christmas gifts. Now I have to really frame it.

I've started a memorial photo of Rupert. I used some white transfer paper made for art. But my pastel pencils don't want to go over it. It's giving me quite a bit of trouble on the eyes. It's an 8x10 and that makes the details rather small also. I thought about starting over with different transfer paper and a bigger portrait. But it's a 2 hr round trip from where I am to buy some different transfer paper. So, I'm continuing to persevere.
The first photo is the reference, followed by work in progress (wip) 1, 2 and 3.

I'm at our family's cabin in the Northern NM mountains. I've started a painting from one of my photos from Taos, NM. This is my set-up. This desk is in the master bedroom. It contains all the internet things like modems etc. It's a good place to spread out my art things with an extra table added.
I put heavy plastic on the floor to protect the carpet. Last year I used a piece of wood but my chair didn't roll well. My chair doesn't roll the best on the plastic either (it moves around). I've decided a desk floor mat might be the best. We'll look when we go to Taos & Albuquerque but that might be next week. I do like the plastic better than the wood.
I've got a beautiful view if I look up from painting. My sister-in-love made the gorgeous quilt.

Join me for First Friday Art Trail at the Clay Studio this Friday, Feb 7th from 6-9 pm. (Near 5th and J, just east of LHUCA) I'll be there with a number of artist friends, showing and selling our art works. I tried to take a photo outside yesterday but had trouble focusing. My helper husband was gone so I will try again today with his help.

I sold the church with the blue roof to the first person I showed it to. One of my doctors has bought several of my paintings over the years.

I won 1st place in the Post Art Show. And honorable mention for Gateway to the Trees.

I finished my painting. Then it took me & Warren over an hour to get an in focus squared up photo that I can make prints from. I was glad he helped me. He understands the tripod adjustments better than I do. I took it outside in the natural light.
I've got to frame it tomorrow so I can take it to the Post Art Show on Tues.
