Kimberly Carter has been an invaluable part of our Young Audiences of Lubbock Teaching Artists program for the past two years, working in second grade classrooms to incorporate music into core curriculum lessons, helping students with memory and learning. This is her final year with the Teaching Artists program as she is leaving to finish up her PhD in Music Education at Texas Tech. We are so thankful for Kimberly and her dedication to Lubbock Symphony's mission of quality music education, and we wish her all the best in her future as a music educator!

Limmie Pulliam was an outstanding tenor and an incredibly kind person. He performed "Opera's Greatest Arias" with the Lubbock Symphony in 2024 and touched the hearts of so many here in Lubbock, at the symphony and at community events he attended with us while he was here. His memory will live on with all those who had the chance to hear his amazing voice.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra family and Music Director Fabio Luisi are deeply saddened by the loss of beloved tenor, Limmie Pulliam. We were honored to share three moving performances with Limmie in Mahlerโ€™s Symphony No. 8 this past weekend. His extraordinary artistry and infectious spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the opportunity to experience his powerful and beautiful voice.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Congratulations to our Lead Teaching Artist Sara Yancey on her new book, "The Little Red African Hen." Using her pen name "Sally G," Sara created a delightful story to help children develop an appreciation for music and teamwork. She has used this book in her Teaching Artist lessons for second-grade students throughout Lubbock. We are so thankful to have Sara as a core part of our Teaching Artist program at Lubbock Symphony, as one of the longest serving teachers in the program!
