This FREE morning session in the Buddy Holly Center's Fine Arts Gallery is for those in the early stages of memory loss, their family, and friends. We will be taking a close look at the Illuminance exhibit, themed Darkness After Light. Participants will create a scratch picture to continue to explore the theme of the exhibit. Registration is required. Seats are limited.

Artifact Spotlight: Black Diamond Guitar Strings

This set of Black Diamond guitar strings belonged to Buddy Holly, a small but essential tool behind a groundbreaking sound.
Black Diamond strings were a popular choice among working musicians in the 1950s, valued for their bright tone and reliability. For a West Texas performer refining his craft, dependable strings were key to rehearsals, radio appearances, and live shows.
Though simple in appearance, these strings were part of the equipment that carried his unmistakable style and helped translate his remarkable talent into the sound that continues to influence music today.
