Buddy Holly graduated from Lubbock High School, an LISD school. Today, Buddy Holly Hall is the only performing arts hall in the country where a school district holds first-priority and permanent residency.

That means 21,000+ LISD fine arts students call this stage home. Rehearsals, recitals, performances — this is their hall, too.

Buddy Holly grew up right here in Lubbock. He went on to become one of the founding voices of rock and roll — influencing everyone from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones — before his life was cut short at 22.

Maria Elena Holly, his widow, personally approved the use of his name for this Hall. Not as a monument to the past, but as a launching pad for what's next.

We're honoring an icon, and helping to launch the next one. That's the whole idea behind Buddy Holly Hall.
