Visitors to the NEQM experience global exhibitions that explore the artistry, history and importance of quiltmaking, past and present. Changing gallery exhibitions (8 - 10 each year) feature the innovative works of prominent quilt and textile artists, as well as historical themes that highlight the most important and beautifully preserved antique quilts in America. A small selection of the NEQM's

renowned collection is always on view and changes periodically in the designated Nancy Donahue Gallery. The NEQM Store features a variety of fine handcrafted items from New England artisans and global fair trade workshops--unique jewelry, fashion accessories, seasonal gifts and home décor. Also available are contemporary and vintage quilts in diverse styles and sizes. Creatives will find specialty books on design and quilt history, exquisite Japanese fabric, sashiko supplies, and exclusive NEQM items. Housed in an 1845 landmark building, the NEQM is conveniently located in the heart of Lowell’s inviting historic district and vibrant creative community. The entire Museum is wheelchair accessible.

It was our great pleasure yesterday to host a fascinating lecture and visit from artist Hollis Chatelain, who traveled from North Carolina to join us. Among the 70 guests in attendance was our longtime friend, artist Valerie Poitier. She posed for us beside her portrait in Hollis' quilt, Dreams Realized.

These remarkably talented and gracious women inspire our commitment to promote and elevate this important art form.
