Lovell Box Company I started making rustic wooden crates and boxes as a way to better my own life. Now I share them with others. I have no connection to those materials.

When I looked at the things around me in my own spaces stored in containers made of plastic and card board something didn't seem right. I asked myself 'how can I change that?' How can I store the things that are important to me in a way that makes me feel engaged with the process of day to day living? The answer was right in front of me, so I got busy. I loaded a pine log onto my saw mill and star

ted cutting it into thin strips and planks that would soon be the parts for my first boxes. Once the stock was ready I started building a box a day. A different design or size each day to figure out my process and see what kind of boxes would be most useful to me. When I showed the results to others the response was overwhelmingly positive which gave me the will to continue to make and start to share the boxes with people in my community. I like to use the boxes for gathering and storing food. There's something very grounding about harvesting fresh produce into a box made from a tree that grew from that very same soil. People continue to come up with great ways to use the boxes; everything from storing vinyl records to collecting recycle-ables.

Despite the challenges this was my best year yet and it's all thanks to the customers and supportive people around me who were willing to pivot and adapt with me day by day in an ever changing world.
