Our entry “Good Fortune” will find a new home at auction tomorrow.

John created another beauty for the annual fundraiser. It features colorful paper lanterns, fans and mercury glass fortune cookie ornaments. The red skirt also serves as a storage bag for the tree for easy set up each year. A $250 gift certificate to Columbine Gallery accompanies this tree.

The Governor’s Art Show and Sale is the largest fine art show in the State that exclusively supports Colorado artists, and the show is endorsed by the Governor of Colorado.

The Show is the largest fundraising effort of the Loveland Rotary Club and the Thompson Valley Rotary Club. The money raised from the show goes directly to each club’s Charitable Foundation, including scholarships for local art students with special attention being given to the Thompson Education Foundation Resiliency Fund for Unhoused Youth.

This recently came into the gallery, and it is just a lovely pop of color. Lu painted so much that we are lucky to still have some gems left from her estate.

The family continues to contribute to the Legacy for Lu campaign with proceeds from her painting sales. This provides art supplies to students in Thompson School District. It is inspiring to see her art continuing to support the community she taught and loved.

Leo E. Osborne's "Daphne" is gracing one of the NSG Sculpture Garden walls. The sculpture retains some of the natural burl texture that it was carved from.

This emerging figure out of burl emphasizes the lore the artwork refers to; 'This charming myth talks about the platonic love of god Apollo for the beautiful nymph Daphne. It is said that Daphne was the first love of Apollo but unfortunately the girl never responded his love. It was not usual or possible for a nymph or a mortal woman in the Greek mythology to resist to the love of a god, but Daphne did so and in fact, she lost her life trying to escape this love. Daphne turned to the river god, Peneus, and pleaded for him to free her from Apollo. In response, Peneus use metamorphosis to turn Daphne into a laurel tree. Apollo was heart-broken at the loss of Daphne and to remember her for ever, he made the laurel the symbol of tribute to poets.'
