EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT: FORT COLLINS COMIC CON!
Fort Collins Comic Con has donated $120,000 over the last five years to the Poudre River Public Library District by bringing together thousands of geeks, pop-culture enthusiasts, gamers, fans, artists, writers, creators, cosplayers, and more into the Northside Aztlan Community Center.
Simply put: Fort Collins Comic Con is a fun, locally organized, affordable Con experience in Northern Colorado to encourage children’s literacy and increase access to art, culture, and local creators in our community.
Led by a team of super-geeks who love to build community and help fellow nerds, Fort Collins Comic Con brings the full convention experience to a small-scale event (average attendance is around 3,000, and more than 150 vendors set up in the Vendor Hall and throughout the event space).
We are so proud to have Fort Collins Comic Con represented at our show! Several members of our staff and volunteers help out with the Fort Collins Comic Con as well.

The Starfest Convention team shared that this weekend will be their last Starfest, and the Fort Collins Comic Con team wanted to share a few thoughts about that.
Starfest was the first Con that our Lead Organizer Nick ever attended. A lifelong Trekkie, Nick found his people - Klingons, Trekkies, geeks, and friends that have continued on to this day. That's the special thing about Cons - everyone is welcome and everyone's fandoms are celebrated, and we bond over it all - from the tiny subplots in novels to major characters to nuanced moments from all our favorite shows.
Starfest, since 1977, has been helping geeks find their crowd, helping folks like us know that they are not alone, that they are welcome, that their interests matter.
Geeks know in their bones that their favorite shows, stories, comics, and characters are more than just what appears on the page or on screen... but it doesn't ever really hit home, until you are welcomed into your Con family: as much as your interests matter, YOU matter in ways you'd never even considered.
Starfest was the first place many of us experienced that kind of acceptance, and so as we join them in celebrating their final show, we do so with profound gratitude and a drive to continue that work.
YOU matter, and whether it's at Fort Collins Comic Con, Starfest Convention, Wicked West Comic Expo, Monster Day Greeley, Rocky Mountain Con, Cheyenne Gaming Convention, or just hanging out at Gryphon Games & Comics, we can't wait to see you again soon.

Lovely shot from Wicked West Comic Expo! You can't see it but there is a nice credit to my incredible illustrator Tara Lehning on my banner. Once I work up the courage, I hope to work with Tara again on my next book. ❤️
I had a great time, and I wanted to offer a couple observations.
While I understand at first wanting everyone to enter from the East Side, it would have been helpful for those of us that are handicapped to be permitted to exit/return through the North entrance (closest to the handicap parking). While I can walk short distances I frequently need to rest.
It would also be helpful to place a few chairs (labeled Handicapped?) in a couple strategic spots. I ended up gravitating to the chairs near the restrooms, which meant if I wanted to go to the vendors on the NW corner (for example) it was a bit of a hike.
It would also be helpful if there was a "cosplay repair/cooldown" area. While the temps were fine for the attendees, those of us in costume (or worse a fursuit) would appreciate a room where we could repair outfits or unmask without being in front of everyone.
Maybe plug in a couple box fans?
I was able to attend 2 panels, and was VERY impressed.
I had no idea what was going on in the gameroom area; was there a separate notice/calendar?
Even though its a long drive from Denver, I will be back next year.
Kudo's to the organizers, for a first time event it was awesome!
