Design To A Tea, 2 - August 11 thru October 7
Design To A Tea, 2 - On view August 11 thru October 7
From the collection of Jeannine le Compte and textiles on loan from Avenir Museum (CSU).
Teacups are a decorative art that combine cultural history with a graceful and surprisingly diverse aesthetic. This exhibition of teacups and other tableware dates from the mid-1800s and is primarily Japanese in origin. Each cup, with its intricate decoration, tells a story that opens the door to another time and culture. Inspired by the designs portrayed on these objects, textiles on loan from Avenir Museum at Colorado State University will provide a full sensory experience that makes this beautiful collection come to life.
