We are excited to announce an offering for our young people. Rooted in rhythm🥁🤎

Play Cousins Collective, in partnership with Twaa Collaborative and Akoben Rooted Dance & Drum Collective, is excited to offer a youth-centered African Dance and Drumming program grounded in culture, rhythm, and community healing. This multi-week experience creates space for our Play Cousins (ages 8–17) to connect with African diasporic movement traditions, build confidence through expression, regulate their bodies through rhythm, and experience collective joy in community.

Programming is every Thursday with dance classes from 4–5 PM and drum classes from 5–6 PM, and conclude with a celebratory recital in early June. Classes are held at Baxter Community Center and are $10 per class. This is more than dance and drumming - this is healing, remembering, and moving together in rhythm.
