Parent and child time was the focus of last weekβs Fiesta Final, a bi-annual celebration to mark the conclusion of the Spring semester of BLCβs Family Program. πππ
Broadening participation beyond those families whose children attended Front Runners, we issued an invitation to all backside families to join us in celebration of the DΓa del NiΓ±o tradition from Mexico, to resounding success! π²π½
Around 30 families enjoyed food and relaxed playtime, and the volunteer support was top-notch. Several local organizations joined the fun as well.
Thank you to the Family & Children's Place , Louisville Academy of Fine Art , and National Center for Families Learning Say and Play with Words: LENA program for engaging our families and giving away fun goodies and useful resources.
We raffled off a ton of games, toys, and crafts to attending children and a special shout-out goes to our friends at the Iroquois branch of the Louisville Free Public Library for distributing bilingual and Spanish-language childrenβs books! π§Έπ¨π
Offering this event, which took place in a relaxed outdoor space and featured plentiful low-stakes activities for all ages is one of the many ways we seek to help foster strong family and community relationships among our backside families. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all the donors whose generosity of time, energy, financial and in-kind donations make such events possible. β½οΈβπ
