Today we celebrate our sweet Ella Claire!

From a tiny 4-year-old in sparkly tap shoes to a stunning senior lighting up the stage — we’ve been honored to watch Ella Claire grow into the beautiful dancer and young woman she is today. Her grace, determination, and heart have left a mark on every class, every performance, and every dancer she’s inspired along the way.

*There's no place like the stage… and last night was nothing short of **WICKED**ly magical!*
Our dancers followed the yellow brick road and stole the show with courage, heart, brains—and lots of sparkle!
From the Emerald City to Munchkinland, every moment of our **Oz-Travaganza with a Wicked Twisted Adventure** had us completely under its spell.

We’re still feeling *over the rainbow* from all the talent and joy that lit up the stage.

It’s Recital Day and our dancers are ready to shine in The OZ-Travaganza: A Wicked Twisted Adventure! 🎭💃🩰

Join us tonight at 6:00 PM at Louisville High School for a show packed with yellow brick road dreams, dazzling costumes, flying monkey flips, and all the sparkle you can imagine! 🌪💚

🎉 Show Day Tips for a Fun & Stress-Free Experience! 🎉
We are so close to the big day, and we want it to be filled with happy memories and zero stress! Here are some helpful tips to make recital day go smoothly for you and your dancer:

1️⃣ Talk About the Fun!
Only mention how fun it will be to dance on stage. Avoid using words like "nervous" or "scared"—little ones often don’t even know to feel that way unless it’s suggested.

2️⃣ Bathroom Break First!
Take your child to the restroom in the lobby before dropping them off backstage.

3️⃣ Tie & Tuck Ballet Laces!
Double knot and tuck those tiny ballet shoe laces to avoid any mid-dance shoe drama.

4️⃣ Review Routines at Home
Let your child watch her routines on the Dance Expressions YouTube Channel for a little confidence boost!

5️⃣ Makeup = Extra Fun!
Stage lights can be harsh, and makeup helps their sweet faces shine bright! Plus, they love it!

6️⃣ Keep Dancing, No Matter What!
Encourage your dancer to keep going even if something unexpected happens. We've had kids run off to tell us stories mid-performance 😄 — we teach them to smile and keep dancing!

7️⃣ Know Your Number!
Make sure your child knows her stage number—write it on her palm if needed. This helps our backstage team a ton!

8️⃣ Be On Time
Doors open at 5:00 PM. The recital starts at 6:00. Arrive on time to allow for restroom stops and time to get settled.

9️⃣ Don’t Drop Off Too Early
If you arrive really early, let your dancer sit with you until about 10 minutes before the show. For shy or overwhelmed dancers, let them find their number on stage first, then return to sit with you until it’s time.

🔟 Quick Drop Off is Best!
Say your goodbyes at the side steps of the stage. Quick hugs and good lucks are perfect—lingering can increase anxiety. Our helpers will take it from there, and if we need you, we’ll come get you!

1️⃣1️⃣ Pick-Up is On Stage After Awards
Your dancer will remain seated on stage after the show. Come up to the stage to pick her up when it’s time.

1️⃣2️⃣ Parents Stay in the Audience
Unless you’re contacted, please stay in your seat during the show. Dancers will stay backstage and get a special prize at the end!

Dance Expressions is located in Louisville, Ms. We opened our door is 2007. At Dance Expressions we support and nurture the love and joy of dance! We offer Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Cheer/ Tumble to ages 3 and up. Our season begins in August and ends in May with a state of the art production. Our summer is filled with camps! Your child is invited to join us this summer! Our Goal at Dance Expressions is to instill passion, character, self-esteem, discipline and self confidence in each of our dancers while helping them set and achieve personal and professional goals.
