GonzoFest is celebrating its final festival with two days of live music, readings and panel discussions about Hunter S. Thompson and his “Gonzo” style of writing, which rejected the concept of journalistic objectivity.

The story behind the 1996 Hunter S. Thompson Tribute will be the first of two panels at GonzoFest Louisville this Friday at noon!

The panel will be a discussion with behind the scene stories regarding the 1996 Tribute. All panelists were either part of the HST Tribute production staff or at the event. Panelists include: T.R. Johnson (Weiss Presidential Fellow and professor of English); Rebekah Reeves (English scholar and Hunter’s personal assistant during ‘96 tribute); Kent Fielding (widely-lauded coach and teacher, co-founder of White Fields Press, currently authoring The Story of the 1996 Hunter S. Thompson Tribute); Deirdre A. Scaggs (Dean of University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center and Director of Wendell H. Ford Public Policy Research Center); Billy Hardison (Co-owner of Headliners Music Hall & Production Simple Concerts; National Independent Venue Associations Advocacy Precinct Captain for Kentucky, Vice President of South Central Chapter of NIVA); and JB Wilson (Exhibitions Specialist at Smithsonian National Asian Art Museum, researcher of Post Media Art, owner of Art Ecology Gallery).

Host, Kent Fielding has had three beautiful Limited Edition "Published in Heaven Posters" produced for the panel. Only 50 were printed. but they'll be available for purchase at GonzoFest!
