REPOST to save a life and/or money!! Changing out the dang filter if you’ve forgotten will almost ALWAYS get your house warmer within an hour AND reduce your energy bill (and your odds of getting sick, and the wear and tear on your furnace). There’s been 2-3x in the decade we’ve had this house that we think our furnace is going out, but we’ve forgotten the filter for a couple of months. Some homes CAN stretch a filter, but if you have pets, are in an area with a lot of pollen or dust, or leave your windows open a lot (or if someone smokes in the home), replace the filter MONTHLY and bulk-buy the filters so you always have some on hand. We change ours on the 1st of the month as part of our to make it easy to remember 🔥
