JoLe Productions For 34 years, a video production company whose purpose has been to "capture those things being lost.

When JoLe Productions was founded in 1990, their concept was to use as little and as small equipment as possible in order to be able to get into places and capture stories that otherwise might be missed. Throughout the world, many of the “old things” and “old ways ” are disappearing. It is on those things that soon would be lost that they focus their attention. In producing a documentary, JoLe Pr

oductions always do extensive research. “That’s just part of our method. We read hundreds of books and articles and visit museums and talk with people. By the time we actually put the piece together, we’ve generally got enough information for a half dozen or more documentaries.”

I'm honored that the video production company my late wife, Joy and I started 25 years ago, has be selected for the Hall of Fame award for Cultural Video by the Louisville Awards Program for 2024.

Before Joy died in 2011, we had made 21 documentaries. Since then, Jill and I have made 5 more.

The story of each documentary is being told by Laura Womack's award winning series titled The Story Behind the Story of Lee Pennington.

Work on the documentaries has literally taken me and JoLe Productions around the world--places like Easter Island, Papua New Guinea, the South Pacific (Tahiti and her lslands), Southeast Asia, Wales, Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland, Australia, Europe, Antarctica--all 7 continents and 96 countries in all.
