One of my favorite films starring that I just had to make a painting of. The story of a man who’s had enough. Enough of rising prices, corporate bullying, gangs, tax payers money spent on stupid things, hot weather, traffic you name it. A movie made in the 90’s but maybe more relevant now, I’m surprised more characters aren’t popping up like this in real life.

Eddie has been painting since the 90’s and I remember him being one of the first I’ve ever seen to do this kinda 3d graffiti which was pretty wild at the time.

New Mural. Secret Location.

One thing I love about painting is kinda just figuring it out as I go, what works here, what doesn't etc. Kinda like life, just figuring it out as I go.

I think a painting, like a song, can mean different things to different people and that meaning can even change over time, I know it does for me.

For now this piece was meant to be something about contemplation and how everything is connected to and came from one source. But it's also about just BE STILL. You can't get to the bottom of anything if you're not still and better yet in SILENCE. So yeah, Be Still, Be Silent and LISTEN... you might just hear something.

I finished this mural at the corner of Bardstown & Baxter. It was just blank wood and I approached the owner and asked if I could paint it , he said Ok and that it'll be windows in November so I was like ok and had to fund it so it'll be a temporary billboard I guess. I just really wanted to paint and if I or YOU could find someone with the funds then I'd love to do like 5 more of these around town (tag someone who may be interested). I just wanted to make something colorful and beautiful.

The face is no one in particular and I collaged the flowers and line work on my iPad and adjusted the colors to pop the way I wanted. I then used a tape grid method for the face and freehanded everything else. I'll post the process video next.
