My name is Steven Nguyen. I am the director of LLD often studying and filling the various roles on the Lion Dance Team. As a child, Lions would visit my Church every New Years Season. It is those very memories that encouraged me to start this team up in 2022.

My name is Joash Kouokam and I have been with Lunar Lion Dance Troupe since August of 2023. I started my musical training in elementary school with the violin, transitioned to the cello, and now I’m studying harpsichord at UofL. I also gained some prior percussion experience, playing the xylophone and djembe in Elementary School.

My name is Myles Hayden, and I joined the Lunar Lion Dance Troupe in August of 2024. I have studied percussion throughout high school and earned top chair snare in the KMEA all-state percussion ensemble. I love lion dance because of the positive mood we bring to each venue and the great people we get to meet each time.

Hung “Bin” Pham is currently a Performer (Head). As a child he watched Lion Dances at his temple and he joined June of 2024. In his spare time he rock climbs and formerly practiced tae kwon doe.

Miles Harrington, November 2023, Performer (Tail), joined the team through mutual friends and is currently a Mechanical Engineering student in Rocketry.

Steven Le, November 2023, Performer (Tail), made his first debut as our Monk at last year’s Jalsa celebration. He is Majoring in Exercise Science with plans of studying occupational therapy.

One of our primary Head Performers, Susant Chhetri. Prior to joining Susant was a soccer player, “though I didn’t know much about lion dance, I thought it looked cool and gave it my all”. He joined in June of 2024 and is a Neuroscience Major.

My name is Luke Werner and I joined the Lunar Lion Dance group back in July of 2024. I am an engineering student at UofL and am apart of the dance/stunt team. I joined lion dance as a way to get active and meet new people.
