We’re so excited to welcome Lisa Brin, Head of FilmLEX, to moderate this Sunday’s panel! Before returning home to Lexington, Lisa built an impressive career launching consumer brand partnerships for some of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, including Jurassic World, Fast & Furious, Kung Fu Panda, Despicable Me, and The Grinch, working with Disney, Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and The Marketing Store. Now, through FilmLEX, Lisa is helping grow Kentucky’s film and television industry by promoting the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive (KEI), connecting productions with local resources, and creating new opportunities for jobs and economic impact in the region.

We’re 3 DAYS AWAY and so excited to introduce Maya Brown, director and writer in Lexington, Kentucky! In 2025, she had her directorial debut in the short film, Everything in its Place – a love letter to the East End; its people, its culture, and its resilience. She also co-wrote and edited the film. Maya is currently a reporter with Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) affiliate KET, where her experience telling stories as both a print and TV journalist has played a pivotal role in her transition to film. Maya has also helped launch the newly formed Lexington Black Filmmaker and Crew networking group, bringing together Central Kentucky’s Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Communities of Color.

We’re thrilled to welcome Mary Clay Boland, two-time Emmy Award-winning casting director, to the panel for our upcoming panel at LEX Studios! With 18+ years of experience in film, television, and theater, Mary Clay has cast projects including The Sopranos, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Friends, and As the World Turns, and numerous independent films.

Now based in Louisville, she continues to contribute to Kentucky’s growing film community through casting, teaching, and audition workshops. She also recently cast upcoming Kentucky production Whisper Sisters – a pilot featuring Emily Meade and Mae Whitman

Announcing our first panelist! Leigha Kingsley is a Kentucky and LA-based actress, writer, producer, director, and champion for female-driven stories. Her acting credits include films with Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson, and Riley Keough. As the Director of "The Spirit of Women" documentary, she was selected as a keynote speaker at SXSW 2024 to discuss the film's impact and significance. And most recently has been selected for the inaugural SXSW LONDON in June 2025. She Co-Executive Produced "The Neighbor" (starring William Fichtner), which was acquired by Starz. Currently, she has two TV shows in development.
