John Little - Hornist

John Little - Hornist French horn teacher/Performer I am a professional hornist, and teacher. In addition I perform in chamber settings, with orchestras, and give master classes.

I perform solo engagements on both the modern valved horn as well as on the classical hand horn. I am the professor of horn at Centre College in Danville KY., and also have a studio at the Sacred Heart School for the Arts in Louisville KY.

Air, and regulating it's speed throughout the various range is crucial, along with a relaxed inhalation. This must be accompanied by an appropriate firming of the corners. The tongue must be propelled(retracted) through air velocity. And of course how clearly we hear our desired outcome defines our accuracy..There are many things happening at once, but a mature player only hears, and plays.
