1936 EL Knucklehead

The 1936 El Knucklehead is considered the most beautiful motorcycle Harley-Davidson produced. It was termed "Knucklehead" because the jugs resemble knuckles. This particular illustration was produced on a 24X36" Clayboard using a number 003 Rotring Rapidoliner. The technique is pointillism or stippling. Every single element is all millions upon millions of tiny dots. There are no solid lines in this piece at all. The illustration took me over 2,000 hours to complete.

Sunrise in Sonora

I just wanted to capture the beauty of sunrise in the desert. This is a fairly large piece for me at 2'x4' and I want to point out that I build my own canvases from scratch including cutting and assembling the stretcher, plus I hand made the oak floating frame to finish it.

The Grand W***o

This is my version of a Mexican retabalo. In keeping with the retabalo tradition of artists adding their inspiration to the biblical stories that they depict, I have added imagery from artists and movements that have influenced or inspired me. These include Mannerism, Frida Kahlo, Walt Disney and Mexican folk art (Santa Muerte).
