This little girl is Lil Jilly, an original character who grew out of my love of creating art that nurtures emotional wellness. I drew her hugging herself as a reminder that compassion begins within. Using pen and colored pencil, I wanted to capture a quiet, peaceful moment that speaks to both children and adults. Lil Jilly is featured in an upcoming children's book about feelings, creativity, and self-acceptance, and she has become a symbol of the work I hope to share with my community.

My Aunt's Geranium

Once while plant shopping with my late aunt years ago, she lamented that dark red geraniums were hard to find. Now whenever I see some I think of her and buy one. I decided to paint one reminiscent of the all the things she had growing on her sun porch in clay pots. It takes me back to simpler times.

FFA:Future Farmers of America

Anyone who has visited the Kentucky State Fair in the last thirty years will recognize the central image of the painting. To me, and for many years, Freddy has represented KY farmers. In a nod to today's shifting environment, I've added Mexican graphics and iconic imagery to reflect the changing (or changed) workforce of the fields. Images include a sugar skull, a Frida Kahlo monkey and Diego Rivera's 'Nino con Alcatraces' and 'Nina con Flores Amarillo's'.

1936 EL Knucklehead

This image took just a little over a year to complete. There are no solid lines at all. It is entirely completed in pointillism. Millions upon millions of dots done on a 24"X36" clay board using a 003 micron pen. I really concentrated on the detail and feel we captured the beauty of the most gorgeous Harley-Davidson.

1936 EL Knucklehead

The 1936 El Knucklehead is considered the most beautiful motorcycle Harley-Davidson produced. It was termed "Knucklehead" because the jugs resemble knuckles. This particular illustration was produced on a 24X36" Clayboard using a number 003 Rotring Rapidoliner. The technique is pointillism or stippling. Every single element is all millions upon millions of tiny dots. There are no solid lines in this piece at all. The illustration took me over 2,000 hours to complete.
