According to MovieMaker Magazine’s 2026 report on the “Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker,” the Duke City locked down the #2 spot in all of North America—finishing behind only Toronto, Canada! This makes ABQ the #1 ranked big city in the United States, beating out major hubs like Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Austin. 🎬

But the flex doesn’t stop with Albuquerque. The entire state swept the rankings this year:

•Santa Fe captured the #1 spot in North America for Small Cities and Towns for the fourth consecutive year.

•Las Cruces made a massive leap, climbing all the way up to #6 on the Small Cities list.

The publication credits New Mexico’s massive 25% to 40% tax incentives, world-class local crews, and major studio hubs like Netflix Studios for keeping our state at the top.
