My wife, Suzanne Cornelius, has exceeded her already award winning baking abilitie (1st place bread, Santa Cruz County Fair, 2023). She altered her famous "man bread" recipe and the texture, size and flavor were perfect. The loaf even had a delicious crunchy cheese skirt!
For those of you who have not experienced her man bread, I will describe it. The dough is rolled out and spread with a layer of caramelized garlic, then she fries up and crumbles bacon and places chunks of sharp white cheddar down. This dough is then rolled up into loaves with swirls of cheddar, bacon, and garlic. The whole house fills with the aroma of bacon, garlic, and fresh bread as it bakes. Life is pretty good around here.
