At Overloaded Mags, we’re fortunate to work alongside filmmakers who continually challenge themselves to raise the bar with every production.

Directors Marjorie DeHey and Paul Overacker share a commitment to creative storytelling, thoughtful production, and the pursuit of excellence. What excites us most is not what they’ve already accomplished, but what they’re building next.

As new projects move through development and production, we’re seeing bigger ideas, broader creative scope, and an unwavering dedication to telling stories that connect with audiences in unexpected ways.

While we’re not ready to reveal details just yet, we can say that the next chapter for Overloaded Mags is already taking shape. The coming year promises new productions, fresh creative collaborations, and ambitious filmmaking efforts that continue to push our company forward.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just announced a significant shift for the Oscars.

Starting in 2029, the ceremony will move to L.A. LIVE, with the show staged at the Peacock Theater under a new long-term partnership with AEG.

From a production standpoint, this is more than a venue change. It’s a signal of where the show is heading:
• A purpose-built, upgradable theater environment
• Expanded red carpet and fan integration via the L.A. LIVE campus
• Infrastructure designed for modern broadcast + global streaming (including the upcoming YouTube distribution deal)

The Dolby Theatre has been synonymous with the Oscars for decades, so this marks the end of a very specific era, and the beginning of a more flexible, potentially more experimental one.

For those of us working in live production and multi-camera broadcast, this will be an interesting evolution to watch. New space, new technical possibilities, and likely a rethinking of how the show is staged for both in-room and global audiences.
