Day Five of Ten! Halfway there! In which I sent prompts to my patrons on patreon, who filled them out, and I wrote monologues, and then filmed them, and am NOW in the editing and posting process, all leading up to my sixth annual holiday show on December 10th.

It's been such a fascinating journey, writing monologues as if they were for theatre, and then making decisions for filming after the fact.

The experiment continues. And today is for Julie.

Baby’s first VR presentation/performance combo at Goucher College. I have concluded a three day seminar talking about being a lil baby newb in the metaverse and why it’s okay to strap in a headset and be brave, and then we had a full on show of The Fantastical of Now.

The students were incredible in class and ROCKED the performance, which was *also* attended by the one and only Colin Tillery!! My incredible team mates were with me in the metaverse, the Goucher staff had my back on stage (!) and even my partner’s avatar showed up — I felt so dang supported.

My (vocal) health has not been great this week. I persevered, and once again — my fictionalized version of myself — Bambi — cracked open some hearts and a little mouse of an avatar (a student!) saved the damn day.

Community is everything and I’m so lucky to have it, to share it, to sometimes even teach it 😭😭😭 thank you, Goucher.

Performance Artist & Activist

Siobhan O’Loughlin is a performance artist and activist with no fixed address, creating intimate solo performance and stepping out for progressive politics all over the world. Her immersive play-in-a-bathtub, Broken Bone Bathtub, has been performed almost 600 times in 40 different cities and five different countries.
