Doors at 7pm for a night that runs the gamut — modern, alternative, and straight-ahead jazz collide with Latin, blues, and funk for a set that’s unpredictable, spontaneous, and full of energy. Expect a sound that channels the experimental spirit of 1970s–80s LA, plus covers pulling from Weather Report, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and more.

🎶 Matt Lilley – Saxophones
🎹 Dan West – Keyboards
🎸 Matt Hornbeck – Guitar
🥁 Charles Ruggiero – Drums
🎻 Nick Campbell – Bass
🪘 Roger Johnson – Percussion

Then stick around — this is a Sunday residency, so the night keeps going with Kevin Kanner’s Jazz Jam after 9pm. Musicians: bring an instrument and get in free (one drink minimum).

COMING UP 9/18: Almost four decades deep, CUBENSIS still chases the jam like it’s the first time. On Friday, September 18, LA’s premier Grateful Dead tribute brings that restless, exploratory energy to The Mint, with special guest Karina Dawn Line opening the night. Pulling from the full arc of the Dead and Jerry Garcia Band catalogs, this crew doesn’t just play the songs — they get inside them, following every unexpected turn the same way the originals did. Watch a band that’s been locked in together for this long trade sparks and build momentum all night, each player pushing the others further out.

Doors at 7:15pm. Grab tickets at themintla.com or the link in bio, NOW!

TONIGHT. September 9th at The Mint!! 🎉

Sue Foley is bringing that pink paisley Telecaster and five decades of Texas blues pedigree to our stage — and you have hours, not days, to grab a ticket. This is a woman who cut her teeth at Austin’s legendary Antone’s, traded riffs with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Billy F Gibbons, and just scored a GRAMMY nod for her latest record!

Kicking things off: LA’s own V TORRES. Her sound floats somewhere between indie-rock haze, beach Americana, and stripped-down vocal ballads, and she’s stepping onto our stage days after dropping her self-produced sophomore album, Woman — raw, personal, and brand new.

Doors open tonight. Grab tickets at themintla.com or the link in bio before they’re gone!

Artist Spotlight: Sue Foley — 9/9 at The Mint

Mark your calendars for 9/9 — Sue Foley is bringing five decades of living blues tradition to The Mint stage. Picture a pink paisley Telecaster slung low, a voice cured in Texas grit, and the kind of tone that only comes from paying real dues. Foley cut her teeth in the crucible of Austin’s legendary Antone’s club, sharing stages and trading licks with blues royalty like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Billy F Gibbons along the way. She’s a five-time Blues Music Award winner, and her latest record, One Guitar Woman, just earned her a GRAMMY nomination — proof that after all these years, she’s still pushing the tradition forward instead of just preserving it. This isn’t a nostalgia act. This is the real thing, still burning. Don’t miss it — grab your tickets at themintla.com or the link in bio

COMING UP 10/1: Kam Franklin — the powerhouse frontwoman of The Suffers — moves through soul, blues, gospel, funk, Americana, and hip-hop like they were always meant to share a room. She’s shared stages and studios with Chaka Khan, Jon Batiste, Questlove, and the Houston Symphony, and off stage she’s a fierce advocate for Black, q***r, femme, and non-binary artists shaping the industry’s future. Her solo debut, Land of the Neon Sun, is roots music with nothing to prove and everything to say.

Joining her: Myra Flynn, whose career embraces dichotomy — half Irish, half African American, her indie-soul songs land somewhere between Ani DiFranco’s bite and Jill Scott’s warmth, never letting you get too comfortable.

TONIGHT 8/30 🎷Jazz Sunday returns with Alex Baird & the Kevin Kanner Jam — doors at 7pm.

She brings the band tonight: Sam Ross on piano, Paul Smith on guitar, Emiliano Lasansky on bass, and Mark Ferber on drums, playing songs from her new album Healing — a gorgeous set of originals and reimagined standards about resilience and connection.

Stick around after for Kevin Kanner’s Sunday Jazz Jam — musicians, the stage is open after 9pm.
