This past weekend was a milestone for me.

The most respected home haunters in Southern California — , , , , and — invited me to put the Actor Helper Controller into their installation at Spooky Swap Meet 2026 (April 24–26 at Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles, produced by the same team behind Midsummer Scream and Knott's Scary Farm).

They built the Old Spooky Barn — a Photo Op and scare actor entrance running all 3 days and nights. The Actor Helper ran the whole thing:

And then something I didn't expect: while it was running in the barn, attendees who saw it work asked where they could buy one. 5 controllers sold right there on the spot.

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet: the Actor Helper Controller ($149) is a professional-grade scare actor audio controller. Load your own MP3/WAV files via USB-C, pick from 3 play modes (Play to End / Push Play-Push Stop / Push & Hold), wire it to a fog machine or external prop through the onboard relay, and trigger it from a wall button, step pad, or RF remote. This weekend was a milestone I didn't see coming.

Four separate orders came in through Google search — 10 Prop Activator Controllers total, and a few of them added the PIR motion sensor add-on. These are going out to haunters gearing up for Halloween 2026, and I wanted to show what actually happens between "order placed" and "delivered":

Every Prop Activator is assembled by hand, programmed, and bench-tested right here in my shop. I plug it into a real Home Depot 12 ft Skeleton, a Spirit Halloween animatronic, or a Lowe's prop — whichever I have set up that day — and I run through all three modes (Sequential, Random, Manual) before it gets boxed.

For anyone new here: the Prop Activator Controller fires up to 5 Halloween props in a programmed sequence so they stop talking over each other. You can trigger the sequence with a PIR motion sensor, a step pad, a 433MHz remote, or just let it loop all night. It works with any store-bought animatronic that has a try-me button or step-pad input — Home Depot, Spirit Halloween, Lowe's, or your own DIY builds.

No app. No coding. No ESP32 flashing. Just an OLED menu on the device and you're programming in about two minutes.
