To be completely transparent, today was a hard day. ❤️‍🩹

I haven’t had one of those days in a long time…the kind where you hold it together through your shift, advocate for your patients, support their families, and then get to your car…and everything you’ve been holding in finally comes out.

To my nurse family: I see you. I hear you. And I understand. 🩺❤️

Sometimes the connections we make with our patients and their families stay with us long after our shift ends. Sometimes their stories hit close to home. Today was one of those days for me.

I cared for my dad until he passed, so some situations bring back emotions you think you’ve learned to carry. And I don’t normally use language like this on my platform, but… F*ck cancer.

If you’ve ever sat in your car after a shift and just cried, please know you are not alone. We spend so much time being strong for everyone else, but we’re human too.

I’m here for you. We’re in this together. ❤️‍🩹🩺
